I chose my backyard and chose the stairs of my porch since they had many different shapes I could capture in a photo. I was close but took the picture from the bottom to capture the lines and shapes from a different perspective. The point of view was from from below. The photo is vertical. I did consider the rule of thirds by moving the stairs to the right when editing.The photo of the stairs causes the viewer's eye to look multiple places at once because there is a variety of lines and shapes.
The fifth photo may be over exposed due to the light under the top shadow. It also could be too bright compared to its surroundings. The underexposure of the background for the fourth photo may be argued to be too dark. However, the contrast between black and white makes the flower a focal point. The first photo is the best example of a properly exposed photo due to the balance in the black and white in the light. For the first photo, I followed the rule of thirds by not directly putting the pole directly in the middle but rather to the right to capture the viewers eyes when looking at the rest of the poles in their pattern,
